About the Author

I’m JJ Reich, a retired Navy FA-18 pilot, sailor, storyteller, father, partner, and adventurer who believes in leaving a mark on the world by uplifting those I care about. My life has been a tapestry of exploration, from soaring through the skies during my naval career to charting the open waters aboard my sailboat - between the vibrant shores of Boquerón, Puerto Rico, the historic streets of St. Augustine, Florida, many of the biggest cities around the Pacific rim, and every state in our great Union. Whether I’m hiking rugged trails, diving into crystal waters, kayaking through mangroves, spelunking in hidden caves, playing games with my family, or cheering on a soccer match with my son, Turner, I’m fueled by a passion for discovering the world’s beauty and the shared humanity that binds us all.

Growing up between the Philly suburbs and Florida’s sunlit coast, I carried my curiosity to Boulder, Colorado for college, eventually earning a Bachelor’s in Science, and later an MBA in Marketing and Executive Coaching. My Navy years took me around the world, where I embraced each place I visited's unique culture, from Tokyo’s bustling streets to the quiet charm of Midwestern towns. These experiences shaped my love for storytelling, inspiring my book series, Sailing Dream Maker, which weaves tales of adventure, mystery, romance, history and the rich culture of life on the open seas.

As a father, my proudest role is raising my daughter, Garret, and son, Turner, guiding them with love and integrity to chase their own dreams. I’ve poured that same dedication into helping friends and family achieve their goals, whether through coaching or simply being a trusted ally. When I’m not writing or exploring, I’m often found restoring Dream Maker, my sailboat and a symbol of my journey, plank by plank, as I prepare her for new voyages.

By my side through every adventure is my life partner, Marcy, whose unwavering support and shared love for exploration make every journey richer. Together, we sail, dream, and restore Dream Maker, weaving our shared passion for discovery into the stories we live and tell, from the sunlit coasts of Puerto Rico to the open seas.
